As we are all in the midst of the holiday season and year-end business items are compounding, I could not help but reflect on a recent summary of our Holmes Murphy Foundation and overall giving efforts in 2024.
I have been blessed with a rich career journey at Holmes Murphy, and one initiative I am quite proud of is the development of our Holmes Murphy Foundation in 2018. Since then, we have become even more intentional and organized around our giving, with the creation of our Give.Fully. employee experience community. Our Give.Fully. team members are representatives from each of our 18 office locations who have raised their hand to help uplift our giving efforts in our local communities.
Here is just a snapshot of our 2024 Give.Fully. engagement:
In addition to all the amazing stats above which includes impacting 427 non-profits and over 10,000 volunteer hours, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention the following:
Awards and Recognition — We’re so proud of several of our offices for being recognized for their giving efforts.
- Omaha and Waukee — Both of these offices received huge props from their communities by receiving the Corporate Partner of the Year and Live United Champion Award,
- Kansas City — Our team in Kansas City was recognized as a top Big Brother Big Sister bowl-a-thon donor.
- Minneapolis — Our team in Minneapolis was recognized as top Light the Night Leukemia and Lymphoma donor.
Community Footprints Program — Our employees raised their voices and selected 25 different non-profit organizations across our geographic footprint to receive $120,000 collectively from our Community Footprints Program.
Independence Day Week of Giving — When I say Independence Day, I’m referring not to the 4th of July, but rather to Holmes Murphy’s independence and our annual celebration in recognition of it. A key action we take during the week of our celebration is to give back. During our 2024 Independence Day Week of Giving, we had 943 volunteers give more than 1,800 hours of their time to 48 different organizations.
Annual United Way Campaign — In this year’s United Way campaign week, we had an all-time donation record of $692,000 — all being given back to worthwhile organizations in our communities.
And last, but certainly not least, each year we select one organization in each of our geographies and create a “Giving Tree” where our employees donate gifts to those who are in need. It’s so fun to see all the gifts around the tree, knowing someone is going to have a “merrier” holiday because of our employees.
As we look ahead to 2025, I am energized by the collective effort of our team members. Be it for our teammates, our clients, or our communities, it’s amazing what we can do when we come together around a common and impactful mission.
Cheers to the reason and a season to Give.Fully!
