At Holmes Murphy, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. We run a one-week United Way campaign each year that brings this passion to life, and this year’s was nothing short of amazing. “Camp Care – Your Holmes Away from Home” engaged our teams across geographies in fun and nostalgic summer camp activities that excited employees and energized our giving efforts for a great cause.

Our campaign aimed to encourage employees to contribute, whether through donations, volunteering, or raising awareness. The enthusiasm we saw across the company was truly inspiring. From Camper Karaoke (yes, we had a few brave souls who sung in front of their colleagues!) and s’mores to flying kites and giving back to our communities, the incredible generosity and teamwork we have the privilege to witness every day at Holmes Murphy was elevated to another level.

Working Together to Give Back

We had another record-breaking United Way campaign week at Holmes Murphy! Our employees truly rallied around our Camp Care theme and came together to raise more than our goal. We are so proud of our results and thrilled to be able to give back to the communities we live, work, and play. Here are a few stats about this year’s campaign that highlight its success and impact.

Drum roll please…

  • Holmes Murphy broke our all-time donation record with over $644,000 in combined employee and match contributions companywide. That is a 14 percent increase over last year – wow!
  • Our employee participation was up 15 percentage points over 2023.
  • We had 49 percent more employee match requests this year!

In addition to financial contributions, our employees logged countless volunteer hours.

It was amazing to see our team in Des Moines create 145 t-shirts bags for the Bidwell Pantry and wrap nearly 400 gifts for Single Parent Provision, one of our 2024 Community Footprints recipients. These are just two examples of how our employees took time from their busy schedules to support their communities – all of our offices went above and beyond to support nonprofits in their communities during this fun and inspirational week.

Our employees also learned more about the needs in our communities. In Des Moines, more than 100 employees attended our volunteer fair that highlighted nonprofits and United Way agency partners making a difference right here in central Iowa. It was heartwarming to see our people come together, working side by side, to make a tangible impact.

We are proud to support the vital programs that provide education, health services, and financial stability to individuals and families in Iowa and beyond, and we can’t wait for next year’s campaign.
