We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Counsel to join our Creative Risk Solutions team in our Waukee, IA office. The Compliance Counsel will oversee and ensure the company’s adherence to legal standards and in-house policies. This role involves providing legal guidance, implementing compliance programs, and preventing or addressing legal issues, ensuring that Creative Risk Solutions operates within the law at all times.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s compliance program.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide legal guidance on regulatory issues and risk management.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to detect potential compliance issues.
- Investigate and address compliance violations or concerns.
- Draft, review, and update company policies and procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
- Provide training to employees on compliance-related topics.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensing: Must be a member in good standing of a state bar.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of regulatory laws and compliance guidelines, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
