Here’s just a bit of what you’d do:

  • Research and resolve the most difficult and complex problems that other help desk levels have been unable to resolve.
  • Analyze and identify trends in issues and work closely with other IT departments or third-party vendors to device preventative solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate service request tickets for onboarding and offboarding employees, access requests, hardware, software, and portable devices.
  • Provide guidance to business units on IT policies and best practices.
  • Train end-users how to set up and fully utilize new technologies.
  • Install, configure, and perform routine maintenance on company hardware and system solutions.
  • Participate in technology projects to evaluate and implement new technology, create documentation and train tech support teammates.
  • Provide and coordinate technology for scheduled events with business units.
  • Create documentation as needed for end-users and update accordingly for procedural purposes.
  • Test and deploy software packages and Windows OS updates/patches.

You’d also need to be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job, including, but not limited to, having:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Windows operating systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting techniques with software and hardware.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Basic understanding of networking,
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA’s Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.

And, let’s not forget the qualifications for the job:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of desktop or second tier support in an Information Technology Department.
