We are looking to add a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Innovative Captive Strategies team in Waukee, IA to perform financial analysis for captives in line with HMA’s objectives and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile, review, and assemble fiscal and interim financial reports.
  • Present financial information to Committees and Boards.
  • Prepare/review monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual financial reports.
  • Monitor and evaluate cash and investment balances.
  • Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and monitor investments.
  • Complete actuarial reviews, tax returns, and audits.
  • Delegate tasks to other Financial Analysts.
  • Ensure compliance with bank covenants and insurance carrier requirements.
  • Prepare budgets, distribution recommendations, and financial projections.
  • Implement new accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle special projects as requested.

Skills & Abilities:

  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Discretion in confidential matters and independent judgment.
  • Proficient in EXCEL, WORD, and other accounting software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks during peak periods.
  • Strong analytical and procedural implementation skills.
  • Commitment to continuing education and relevant designations.
  • Physical ability to exert minimal force occasionally.
  • Knowledge of HMA’s Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA, and E&O procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Accounting degree; CPA or CFA preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in accounting, preferably in insurance; offshore banking experience a plus.
