Holmes Murphy, along with Copaken Brooks, is proud to announce we’ll be strategically relocating our south Overland Park, Kan., location and 35 employees in that office to Corrigan Station in Kansas City. This move enhances and supports our new brand and marketing efforts and is planned to take place at the end of the year.
Holmes Murphy launched our exciting new brand in early 2016 emphasizing our unique approach to insurance and our strategic focus on creating an engaging and celebratory company culture. The move to Corrigan Station supports this strategic brand focus by providing employees a collaborative, dynamic, and amenity-rich space to match our company’s forward-looking view. Holmes Murphy will occupy approximately 11,000 square feet on the seventh floor at Corrigan Station.
“This is a very exciting move for us,” said Jeff Spencer, senior vice president and shareholder at Holmes Murphy. “We are making a deliberate effort to brand ourselves to be something different than our competitors. We have several areas of expertise that differentiate us, and we wanted an office that also helped set us apart. Corrigan Station’s location, connectivity, and amenities allow us to offer our employees a great environment, set ourselves apart as an employer, and attract new customers.”
Our new Holmes Murphy offices will boast ten-foot-tall windows allowing abundant natural light, coupled with 11-foot ceiling clear height and large, open floor plates. The space will feel open and collaborative. From the seventh floor, Holmes Murphy will have a unique perspective — feeling close enough to street level to be connected to the Crossroads, but high enough to have a wider view of the surrounding downtown area.
“We are very excited to add Holmes Murphy as a tenant at Corrigan Station,” said Jon Copaken, principal at Copaken Brooks and a co-developer of Corrigan Station. “We have been pleasantly surprised by the number of ‘traditional’ and professional services companies who are looking at the Crossroads. Companies today are trying to differentiate themselves and attract talent. Unique and amenity-rich locations like Corrigan Station in creatively inspiring locations the Crossroads are helping companies showcase their brand and culture.”
The Corrigan Station project includes the redevelopment of the historic 10-story, 110,000-square-foot Corrigan Building and 37,500 square feet of new, office and retail space with an adjacent parking structure.
The mixed-use project is located on 19th Street connecting Walnut and Main in the heart of the Crossroads. Construction is currently underway and, again, occupancy is planned for the end of the year.
As a historic renovation, Corrigan Station will showcase urban character combined with modern style. Open floor plates provide abundant natural light and the building will offer unparalleled views and impressive amenities such as a rooftop patio, coffee shop, showers, common gathering spaces, and one-of-a-kind views. The building is designed to achieve LEEDTM certification as a “green” building. Corrigan Station provides unmatched connectivity via the Kansas City Streetcar which has a northbound stop immediately outside the building. Upon completion, the project will total approximately 150,000 square feet which will include an adjacent, newly constructed parking garage.
